Leopard is the smallest of four ‘big cats’ family comprising of lion, tiger, leopard and jaguar. Due to large-scale hunting, poaching and loss of habitat, the population of leopard has drastically reduced all over the world and now it can be mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa. Although fragmented population of Leopard can be seen in India, Indochina, Malaysia and China but more or less leopard had been declared as ‘Near Threatened’ species.

Leopards have relatively short legs as compared to its long body. They have a large skull and physically it resembles jaguar. Its fur is marked with rosettes, which lack internal spots unlike jaguars. They weigh around 1501-70 ponds and their body length is about 6-7 feet. They are keen hunters and feed on a variety of food ranging from small rodents to extremely large animals like giraffe or buffalo. They are extremely agile and can climb a tree very swiftly. They can run up to a speed of 60 km/h. Leopards are famous as opportunistic hunters that hunt silently and alone. Leopards can consume any animal that they can catch and hunt.

Chimpanzee or Chimp is the name for two extant species of ape who are the closest living relatives to humans. Commonly available Chimpanzees are living primarily in the central and western Africa. Another variety known as Pygmy Chimpanzees are found in the forests of Democratic Republic of the Congo. Chimpanzees, Gorillas, Human and Orangutans belong to a common biological family Hominidae. Chimps are favorite animals of humans due to their social nature, intelligence and for being almost like humans.

Chimpanzees stay together in a group of about 30-32 animals. They are extremely intelligent and noisy animals. Chimps generally live on a diet of fruits, leaves and other green foods however occasionally they also eat meat of young goats or baboons and small insects. They defend themselves by throwing stones and sticks at their predators. Fully-grown, adult male Chimps can weigh around 70-150 pounds and stand 3 to 4 feet tall. Average life span of Chimpanzees is about 50 years, with a life of maximum 40 years in the wild and around 60 years in the captivity.
