Hare or jack-rabbits are species of leporids (species of rabbits) that are well known for fast speeds. They can often run at speeds up to 45 mph. Hares tend to live alone or in pairs. In African folklores, hares are considered as tricksters and evil characters, often associated with witches.

Hare is normally a shy animal that may change its behavior in spring season. During spring, hares can be often seen chasing each other around the meadows to attain dominance and more access to breeding females. Occasionally, hares are also spotted boxing with one another during spring. Unlike other rabbits, hares do not bear their young ones below ground in a burrow. Instead, they prefer a shallow depression or flattened nest made from grass. Hares are generally larger than rabbits with longer ears and black markings on their fur. Diet of hare is very much similar to that of rabbits. Like rabbits, hares are also prized as food items and are prepared in the same manner namely, roasted or taken apart for breading and frying. Cheetah is an amazing African animal that is an atypical member of cat family. Cheetah is unique in its speed while lacking the climbing abilities. Cheetah is the fastest land animal that can reach a speed up to 115-120 km/h and it can accelerate from 0 to 110 km/h in flat three seconds, which is greater than the fastest super cars in the world. They are commonly found in Saharan Africa, south of Sahara Deserts. The animal gets it name from Hindi word Cheetah that translates into ‘Spotted Animal’.

Whole body of Cheetah is covered in small round black spots measuring about 2-3 cm except the underside. They have a small head that is disproportionate to the body. They have high-set eyes with black tear marks running from corner of the eyes down the sides of the nose to the mouth. Tear marks help them to keep sunlight out of the eyes and to aid in hunting and seeing long distance. Tear marks act as the best visible distinguishing marks between a Cheetah and a Leopard. Cheetah is a carnivorous animal and feeds on small mammals weighing below 40 kg. Cheetahs can also hunt large animals like Zebra when they are in groups. Adult Cheetah weighs around 90 to 140 pounds, the height is about 30-35 inches, and the body length is around 45-55 inches.
