Pictures of African Animals Humpback Whale and Humpback Whale Informations
Humpback whale belongs to one of the larger whale families. They are often known as acrobatic animals due to their frequent breaching and slapping of sea waters. Humpbacks are found in oceans and seas across many regions in the world and are known to migrate more than 25,000 km every year. During summer they feed in polar waters and then migrate to tropical and subtropical areas in winter to breed and give birth. They can survive on their food reserves during the whole of winter season.

Adult humpbacks range in size from 12-16 meters long and about 36,000 kg in weight. They have a distinct body shape with unusually long pectoral fins and a knobby head. Adult males produce a typical whale song, that lasts for 10-20 minutes and may be repeated for hours together.
