Jackals belong to any three small to medium sized species of the family canidae. Jackals are found in Africa, Asia and southeastern Europe. Jackals display a similar ecological niche and characteristics of Coyote in North America. There are four common species of Jackals Golden Jackals, Side-Striped Jackals, Black-backed Jackals and Ethiopian Wolf. Despite their outwardly similarities, all the species are not closely related to one another. Jackals are commonly seen animals on the African Safaris.
