Hyena is a stocky animal belonging to mammalian family and which are native to Africa and Asia. There are four living species of Hyena striped Hyena, Brown Hyena, Spotted Hyena and Aardwolf Hyena. Except the striped Hyenas that are seen in the jungles of India, all the Hyenas are found in African Savannah, south of the Sahara desert. Although Hyenas resemble to Canids (biological family of dog) but they are related to a separate biological family of mongooses and meerkats.

Spotted Hyena weighs around 50 kg. They have extremely powerful jaws in relation to the size of the body. Their front legs are longer than their back legs. Hyena has many amazing characteristics. Hyenas have a strong digestive system with highly acidic fluid with which they are capable to eat and digest their entire prey including skin, bones, teeth and horns. They make a typical laughing type of sound while they are attached by predators. Hyena is a very curious animal. They always move in large groups while hunting for their preys during night.
